a thanksgiving feast

the story continues...

wednesday i went to london by myself. i had such fun wandering around to all my old favorite places, walking on my favorite streets, sneaking into my old college (which has been remodeled and looks great!) i walked a ton, bought a lot of good things to bring home, and enjoyed london. i also visited the victoria and albert museum, where i saw the fashion and colonial india exhibits. it was a perfect day on my own in london. i think london is one of the only cities where i could happily wander for days. it is just conducive to that i think.

on thursday i watched ingrid's rowing practice, met her after class for a breakfast of chelsea buns, and baked pecan and pumpkin pies (thanks to george and trader joe's for the recipes).

we also tried mince pies that day - amazing! on thursday night we went to the thanksgiving formal hall dinner at churchill college with ingrid's friend dan, and dan's two friends. we ate thanksgiving dinner, surrounded by plenty of fellow americans, and ended the evening by toasting the queen, sir winston, and the president of the united states. such a satisfying evening, and theperfect warmup to our friday thanksgiving extravaganza!
