on friday morning, we woke up early to start the preparations for the real thanksgiving feast. ingrid and her housemate chloe had decided to host a thanksgiving celebration for the residents of Maids', plus a few extras. by the day of the event they were up to 25 people! we spent the morning preparing the turkeys (washing, stuffing, and basting), and then decorated the living room and found enough tables and chairs for 25! ingrid and i also went for a long cambridge walk and to noa noa - where i got a skirt to wear for the feast!
the feast was a huge success. besides the two turkeys and our two pies, we had several vegetable side dishes, salad, mashed potatoes, and 4 more apple pies. it was amazing. everyone ate and enjoyed it all - it was a fine introduction to thanksgiving for all those who had never celebrated, and an enjoyable evening for all. after dinner, we chatted and lingered quite awhile, and then watched home alone - a thanksgiving essential!

saturday was my last day in england and we decided to venture to london. we spent the day walking and wandering, with lunch at the borough market, among my favorite places in london. we ate toasted leek and cheese sandwiches (although ingrid's wasn't quite right - another story), and met doug petersen (our friend who is studying at the london school of economics) for some market shopping and sampling.
after the borough we wandered and shopped the streets of london, just trying to soak it all in. we finished the evening by finding the scandinavian kitchen and shop, home of norwegian chocolate and other deliciousness!
all in all, it was a fabulous trip and i was very sad to head back to stanford!
