heat wave continues

it's hot in new york. record-breaking, op-ed-garnering, hot. if you've opened the newspaper, turned on the television, or even looked out your own window, chances are that you know about the east coast heat wave. despite all this, we are still enjoying our summer (with a few extra frozen treats as a bonus). this week:

cupcakes at billy's in chelsea (still partial to georgetown)

a walk on the "highline", the new hip thing to do in nyc

dinner for restaurant week at smith and wollensky - home of steak (and really amazing crabcakes!)

and...restaurant week at norma's at le parker meridien hotel (they start the meal with a shot glass of the smoothie of the day)

and today, i was somehow talked into hosting a dinner for 10 people! in our tiny apartment!
