the first weekend of june, we had the opportunity to join the medical school alumni weekend at fallen leaf lake, a small lake just south of lake tahoe. ehete, anubha, and i were part of the medical student contingent. we had a beautiful weekend of hiking, boating, and enjoying being outside!

unfortunately, the trip nearly ended in disaster. ehete's car had some trouble, and we were temporarily stranded in dixon, california, just 25 miles outside sacramento. we found a delightful fruit and vegetable market, and then anubha discovered that she had a AAA membership. we were rescued by a nice man in a tow truck who then proceeded to tow us the 96 miles to the palo alto toyota dealership (AAA gives 100 free miles of towing). eric picked us up there, and we were home, only 1.5 hours after we had planned. what an adventure!
