fast forward to this year. somehow, i can't bring myself to spend the 2-3 hours i am home and awake cooking. i'm somehow managing with cooking on sundays, eating that most of the week, and then eating salads, cottage cheese, and whatever i get at school for the rest of the meals. what a life. i was feeling guilty about this until i heard the following conversation last night at my internal medicine dinner orientation.
doctor at our table: so do any of you guys actually cook for yourselves?
(glance around the table guiltily)
amy: i'm a HUGE fan of the $2 eating right frozen meals at safeway. does that count?
bowen: i've gone through the entire frozen sections of safeway and trader joe's.
amy: any favorites?
bowen: well, now i can't even bring myself to go to the grocery store so i just order canned food off of amazon.
....
we're living the dream, people. this is how your doctors survive.
Twice in one week?? Wow. Maybe we should change the commitment to 4 times a month?
