last weekend we decided to try out the ward social scene. this was big for tori and i, nothing new for phil and anna. the boys of "la hacienda" (one of the east palo alto houses - it's cool to name your house in our ward) were having a "slammin' pogs party" to celebrate the 90s. we paid a visit to the palo alto goodwill, and then let tori work her costume magic. how did we end up? as phil the pluto/mcdonalds man, anna the relief society french braid, tori the vampire slayer, and me, looking rather as i did in the 90s (it was unfortunate, as you can see).
cher (aka Ashley, in Tori's class) from clueless made her debut, so the evening wasn't a completely unfortunate. she won best costume in my book.
and saturday? we went multi-stake bowling. turns out that a multi-stake activity is pushing it - lots of oldish guys and girls that are easily stereotyped. (why is it that singles' ward members are so easily typecast?)
